Gabriel grew up in San José, Costa Rica. While living there, he taught Sunday School and ministered at La Reforma and San Sebastian prisons. In 2003, he received a Conversational English degree from UNED State University (Universidad Estatal a Distancia).
After taking a mission trip to Managua, Nicaragua in 2004, Gabriel relocated there to serve as a volunteer with Calvary Chapel Managua, translating and working alongside the missionaries. He has also previously served as a pastoral assistant. Gabriel has traveled to Venezuela, Panama and Honduras as a translator for various mission teams.
As pastoral assistant at Horizon Church Jacó, Gabriel works alongside the pastor and other staff members as a translator, teacher and technical support person. He also is an integral part of Horizon’s various ministries. Presently Gabriel is pursuing a degree in Christian Education at ESEPA (Escuela de Estudios Pastorales) in San José.
He married Ale, who is serving with the worship team on Sundays.
